50%: Tests and Quizzes
Students are given at least five days notice for every test. There will be a review quiz every other week for students to continue reviewing for the entire year. Every unit, students will receive a packet of questions that must be handed in the day of the post test which will count as a quiz grade. Work MUST be shown.
20%: Homework
Homework is given everyday and ALL WORK MUST BE SHOWN in order to receive full credit. Homework can be made up within 2 days with a loss in points each day.
20%: Portfolios
There are two writing pieces done for every unit. A mid-unit writing piece is to assess the student's knowledge of topics learned in the beginning of the unit. At the end of the unit a final assignment is given to assess the student's knowledge of the entire unit.
10% Participation
Participation is based on a student asking questions during class, not calling out and by the student being engaged during group work, which includes helping group members answer problems and completing the assignment.
